Yield 5 apples
Ingredients
5 red apples
1/2 lb sugar (about 1 cup and 2 tbsp)
3/4 can (8 oz.) Dr. Brown’s Black Cherry Soda
1 1/3 cups water
1/2 tbs ground cinnamon
Directions
Wash apples and then remove cores. Remove one inch of skin from around the top of apples.
Place apples peeled side down, in a 4-inch-deep pan or Pyrex dish. Mix water, sugar, soda and
cinnamon and pour over apples.
Bake in a 350 oven for approximately 1¼ – 1½ hours or until a two-pronged fork can enter the apples easily.
Sprinkle additional cinnamon over apples.
Store in the pan with cover in refrigerator.
